Scott is the owner and director of Fuqua Physical Therapy. Originally from Sacramento, Scott graduated from California State University Long Beach in 1980. Scott returned to Sacramento in 1981 and began his professional career working in private practice orthopedics and sports medicine. Scott has received extensive post graduate education in orthopedics and manual therapy. He is a graduate of the long term Canadian Manual Therapy program along with an extensive list of additional course work. During his 30 plus years in practice Scott has worked with an impressive list of professional, college and high school athletes. He has worked in a variety of athletic training environments including Olympic, professional and high school sports. Scott has a personal passion in the area of strength and conditioning and has personally competed in that arena.
Originally from southern California, Karyn graduated from Loma Linda University in 1982. She started her career by working for five years at a large teaching hospital in Los Angeles. Since that time, Karyn has worked entirely in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy. In 2000, she became board certified as a Sports Clinical Specialist by the American Physical Therapy Association. Karyn has worked with professional, Olympic, college, high school and recreational athletes. Her experience has been enhanced by extensive continuing education in manual therapy, orthopedics and sports physical therapy. In 2003, she became certified in Sportsmetrics, a prevention program for female athletes. Karyn is an avid skier, runner and has played competitive tennis for many years.
Steve Thrall is a 1980 magna cum laude graduate of California State University, Northridge/UCLA Hospitals and Clinics. He has over 30 years in the field of Physical Therapy, specializing in outpatient orthopedics and sports physical therapy with a focus on post surgical rehabilitation and return to work/sports. He has completed numerous continuing education courses in this area including a focus on the geriatric population. He is a former clinical coordinator and manager for a national health chain. His interests include cycling and hiking.
Gregg graduated from Loma Linda University with a BS degree in Physical Therapy. He has been a practicing therapist for over 35 years. Greg has worked in a multitude of settings including acute care hospitals, home health and outpatient facilities. Greg has received specialized training in treatment of Tempromandibular Joint Disorder (TMJ). Greg has been an associate of Fuqua Physical Therapy since 1984. Greg enjoys hiking, kayaking, photography and spending time with his family during his free time.
Rich received a degree in Physical Therapy Assisting in Brooklyn, New York in 1976 and became licensed in the state of California in 1979. He has acquired an extensive amount of continuing education, including certification as a Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in 2007. Rich has obtained experience in acute care, orthopedics, neurological rehab, and balance training for the geriatric population. He combines his clinical expertise and sense of humor in providing patients with quality care. Being a veteran of the U.S. Army allows him the opportunity to interact with patients who have had similar life experiences. Rich was also a participant in the Army boxing program. "I wish to use my experience and skill to help keep our geriatric population as healthy and SAFE as possible."
Jen graduated from CSU, Chico in 1992 with a BA in Physical Education. She then received her license as a Physical Therapist Assistant from Sacramento City College in 2003. She has more than 17 years of experience, 14 in this current setting, specializing primarily in Orthopedic sports extremity problems. Jen enjoys working with patients helping them to resume life as usual after injury or surgery. She also performs pre-employment testing for companies using Biodex Isokinetic Equipment. Jen enjoys spending time with her family, is an avid runner and tennis player.
In 2009, Janice received her Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology at Sacramento State University. She went on to graduate from the Physical Assistant program at Sacramento City College as a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society in 2013. She gained interest in the physical therapy field during her high school years working as a student trainer. Janice traveled and provided care for high sports competing across the country. Janice combines an upbeat personality with her knowledge of physical therapy to encourage patients during their recovery. During her down time Janice loves to spend time with her family, travel and attend baseball games.
Marshann has been the practice manager for over 25 years. She is originally from Southern California, where she graduated from California State University Long Beach with a BA degree in Sociology. She is responsible for handling all of the day to day aspects of the practice, including human resources, contracting and maintaining an exceptional office staff. Marshann prides herself in her ability to treat both employees and patients with a personal touch.
Glenda has been Involved in the health care field for over 40 years. She has been employed at Fuqua Physical Therapy for 20 years and has served as office manager for the past five. She attended CSU, Humboldt before relocating to the Sacramento area. She is responsible for overseeing Medicare and HMO accounts and considers it a challenge to stay current with the ongoing changes in healthcare insurance. She enjoys spending time with her family and loves fishing and sewing.
